Reese Witherspoon knows the way to Sofia Vergara‘s heart: French pastries.

When filming wrapped recently on the New Orleans set of the actresses’ upcoming not-yet-titled movie, Witherspoon surprised her costar with a box of baked goods that she personally picked out from local dessert boutique Sucré. The luscious confections included a strawberry dacquoise rouge (which Vergara is holding in the picture below), lait praline, summer berry verrine, S&M (strawberry and malt) and s’more skillet.

The Modern Family star, who has a well-documented sweet tooth, appreciated Witherspoon’s gift by posting a shot of herself happily posing with the pastries. “Stop spoiling me @reesewitherspoon!!,” she wrote. “Im going to miss u too much!!!”

Witherspoon clearly was on the right track: Vergara’s Instagram is filled with pictures of herself surrounded by cakes, pies and doughnuts. A few weeks ago, in a photo that showed off her famous derriere, the sexy actress held up a small pink box and wrote, “I worked out on a saturday!!! I deserve my little rum cake!!” In another shot, she’s gazing down at a big chocolate-topped cake: “Now is a happy Friday!!!gracias.”

Vergara and Witherspoon bonded during the film’s shoot and, like girlfriends everywhere, occasionally posted goofy photos of themselves. One on Witherspoon’s Instagram feed depicted Vergara primping over the blonde actress with the caption, “Thanks for the makeup @SofiaVergara Now can you do my hair?”

Before she left New Orleans, Witherspoon, who was raised in the Louisiana hot spot, treated another special someone to a Big Easy sweet: her 21-month-old son, Tennessee James. “Last day of beignets with my boy,” she captioned in an Instagram shot of her holding hands with the tot.

For her part, Vergara is also keeping busy post-filming: She’s rumored to be dating PEOPLE’s Hottest Bachelor, Joe Manganiello.

Let’s just hope the True Blood star has an appreciation for all things sugar, too.

The Latest Craze in Disco Styles Is See-Through Jeans—but Beware of Foggy Bottoms

Posted on

On a clear day, you can see forever—or at least that’s the wicked thought behind L.A. designer Agi Berliner’s transparent idea: see-through jeans. Exhibitionists notwithstanding, most folks wear them over bathing suits or as attention-getting evening wear with halters, garter belts and body stockings. Created for the disco crowd, the $34 jeans are selling like, well, hot pants. In just six weeks, 25,000 pairs have already been sold in such major department store chains as Macy’s, Bonwit’s and Saks.

“What’s limiting American designers is that we’re afraid to do something different,” says Berliner, 32, a Hungarian émigré who fled with her family to the U.S. in 1956. Agi thought up the gimmick in London while marveling at the way plastics were being employed by designers of punk fashion. In her L.A. office, where she designs for La Parisienne junior sportswear, Agi spent five days on the phone and six weeks testing to come up with the right plastic.

Agi herself tried out the French-cut jeans with the zipper in front, and quickly found several problems: Some plastics tore away from stitching, others wouldn’t bend and all fogged with perspiration. The ideal material proved to be a vinyl supplied by a bookbinder. The steam was eliminated with a series of vents behind the knees and in the crotch. “They’re no hotter than polyester pants,” claims Agi, “and if you wear them with tights, they won’t stick to your legs.”

Whatever the discomfort and despite the problem of Saturday night feverishness, discomaniacs report one major advantage of the plastic pants: no laundry bills. To keep Berliner’s see-through jeans clear, all the wearer needs is a little Windex.

Sofia Vergara is so stuck up! She does not care to have her picture taken unless it’s with someone famous. I don’t know how she has become so famous in the U.S. with that horrible accent! On top of that she’s getting old.. and the botox is starting to ruin her pretty face.

whatever on

yummmm…love random “friends” – associates/co-workers during a shoot is more like it.

All of Reese movies flop so what do her handlers do try to hook her up with a well known star and hope that Sofia will draw people into the theaters to see movie. Sorry but I think this movie is going to bomb. I don’t know Sofia is enough to overcome Reese stink.
