Diane Kruger: ‘In L.A. You’re the Devil If You Eat Bread’

How does Hollywood stay so thin? Diane Kruger may have the answer.

“In L.A. you’re the devil if you eat bread,” The Bridge actress says in InStyle’s Your Look special issue, while biting into a piece of the forbidden carb. (Did we mention we love her?)

Turns out Kruger’s fashion-forward style isn’t the only thing with a Parisian influence. The German-born beauty, who is engaged to longtime love Joshua Jackson, hits the food in Europe as hard as the boutiques.

“Josh and I went to Paris over Christmas, and he gained, like, 15 pounds,” she says. “The bread! White chocolate! Risotto! Pâté! My friend lives out in Normandy on a farm, and she makes her own foie gras. And then the wine. All we did was eat and drink — it was so fun.”

Sounds like our kind of trip!

they are not engaged though. People, get your facts straight.

SS on

They’re engaged? Don’t think so People…just a couple months ago she said she wasn’t planning on marrying again. Fact checker fail.

Elnik55 on

Oh please. She hasn’t touched a piece of break in 15 years.

HH on

Foie gras? Isn’t that where they force feed the duck? :(

KellyGreen on

Weird…bread rocks :)

Asthmatic Aviva on

Yeah I’m not into the Foie Groie part :(

I really like her. Don’t think they’re “officially” engaged but who knows.

What she is saying is only true in affluent areas of L.A. In lower-income neighborhoods the grocery stores are stocked with exactly the same things as in the Southern United States–junk food and cheap bread.

People in Hollywood have sold their soul to the devil.

Jessa on

I live in LA and everybody eats bread… She lives in a celeb bubble. Whole wheat, 9 grain, rye… Nobody’s “the devil!” What a silly thing to generalize.

Diane-sister on

She watches what she eats and works out. And it shows. F off please.

Diane sister on

She watches what she eats- and works out, and it show, so please go fuc yourself

Where I come from, people that make or eat foie gras are the devil!

Wo well said Barbara !

I loved her in Inglorious Basterds but don’t like her lack of compassion for animals. She wears fur often and eats foie gras, (and proudly!) the epitome of cruelty. Animals don’t deserve to be tortured😔

Only the ones who want to be pin thin (like her ) are the ones who claim it’s bad. I don’t eat much bread, but then again i don’t eat really anything that’s made with nasty white flour. There is no nutritional value whatsoever, and it’s just junk. That’s probably what she meant. For me, it just kills my digestive system. Eating clean makes you feel so much better. People who eat like $hit, feel like $hit…plain and simple.

But did they “fondue”?

Tommie on

No one eats in Hollywood. They serve Tic Tacs for Christmas meal.

WasAFan on

Was a fan until she mentioned foie gras. Animal torture. SMH.

OMG Tommie, LMAO, that was priceless!!

Don’t care for liver in any form but bread can be your friend if the gym is also included in the clique.

I certainly hope those of you complaining that she is a meat eater, don’t wear leather. I don’t eat my pets but I do eat meat and drink milk. Also, love a nice leather purse.

I live in LA and that’s just dumb. I have celiac’s (which means I can’t have gluten even if I wanted to) and 99% of restaurants don’t have a clue how to deal with me. People eat so much bread and pasta and stuff here. What is she talking about?? How is this a headline?

Sounds like my kind of vacation!

My friend and I started a 30 day weight loss challenge last month and I am proud to say we are kicking butt so far! We have both managed to lose an average of 2 pounds/week, which would be considered healthy weight loss. All thanks go to her sister for recommending this awesome new program: http://www.healthylifestylez.com

Oh boohoo people foie gras is tasty, bunch of bleeding hearts. That’s what they do in France. Would rather eat the liver than the brain or the sweetbreads any day

She seems a bit uppity. I personally don’t like that characteristic.
