Courteney Cox Is Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner for 30 People
When it comes to Thanksgiving, you could say that Courteney Cox is an especially canny host.
In addition to planning a wedding with fiancé Johnny McDaid and starring in Cougar Town, which returns for its sixth and final season Jan. 6, Cox will also be playing host this Thanksgiving at her home in L.A. — for 30 people.
“I have, like, 30 people coming for Thanksgiving. That’s a lot,” Cox tells PEOPLE at the celebration for the show’s 100th episode on Wednesday night. When asked what she plans on cooking, she jokes, “It’s all canned. It tastes great.”
It turns out that the former Friends star is often a host, says her Cougar Town costar Busy Philipps, who was also at the celebration. “Courtney’s really good about keeping people together. She has Sunday nights at her house.”
Says Cox: “I grew up in Alabama. where my grandmother on Sundays — I have 21 first cousins — got the entire family together at 5:30. So I’m just used to having big groups gathering.”
Getting everyone together can be tough, explains Cox, especially in a city like L.A. “No one has family out here, so it’s trying to create some sort of community that I have people over,” she says. “I say that people are always welcome to come on Sundays.”
