We knew Jessica Alba was a knockout in the kitchen — turns out she is in the ring, too!

The star is set to show off her fighting skills in the upcoming film Mechanic: Resurrection, thanks to months of training in Krav Maga, the Israeli military’s official system of hand-to-hand combat.

“It gets you in good shape and you’re also learning a skill,” explains her trainer Michael Margolin, co-founder of Krav Maga Worldwide. It’s an effective workout, he says, “because of the kicking and punching with the resistance of another individual.”

Alba, 33, works out with Margolin two to four times a week for hour-long sessions that focus on high-intensity interval training.

“We start with a warm-up, and then we do intervals,” says Margolin. “We do a lot of mitt work where she’s kicking and punching various targets as strong as she can for a period of time, and then she rests for a period of time. We also mix in medicine balls, kettle bells and some light weights.”

Margolin varies the mom-of-two’s sessions by incorporating other fitness moves, too, like rowing, squats and push-ups.

“I think it’s always good to mix things up,” he says, noting that Alba practices yoga and takes spin classes as well. Judging by her enviable physique, it’s certainly paying off.

But torching calories is just half of the equation. “[Alba] works hard, and that’s on both the diet and the exercise part,” he says. “You need to combine the two.”

His final word of advice? “As far as exercise goes, find something that you enjoy because you’re more likely to stick to it!”

Watch Margolin’s tutorial below to learn how to master a Krav Maga move.

The Latest Craze in Disco Styles Is See-Through Jeans—but Beware of Foggy Bottoms

On a clear day, you can see forever—or at least that’s the wicked thought behind L.A. designer Agi Berliner’s transparent idea: see-through jeans. Exhibitionists notwithstanding, most folks wear them over bathing suits or as attention-getting evening wear with halters, garter belts and body stockings. Created for the disco crowd, the $34 jeans are selling like, well, hot pants. In just six weeks, 25,000 pairs have already been sold in such major department store chains as Macy’s, Bonwit’s and Saks.

“What’s limiting American designers is that we’re afraid to do something different,” says Berliner, 32, a Hungarian émigré who fled with her family to the U.S. in 1956. Agi thought up the gimmick in London while marveling at the way plastics were being employed by designers of punk fashion. In her L.A. office, where she designs for La Parisienne junior sportswear, Agi spent five days on the phone and six weeks testing to come up with the right plastic.

Agi herself tried out the French-cut jeans with the zipper in front, and quickly found several problems: Some plastics tore away from stitching, others wouldn’t bend and all fogged with perspiration. The ideal material proved to be a vinyl supplied by a bookbinder. The steam was eliminated with a series of vents behind the knees and in the crotch. “They’re no hotter than polyester pants,” claims Agi, “and if you wear them with tights, they won’t stick to your legs.”

Whatever the discomfort and despite the problem of Saturday night feverishness, discomaniacs report one major advantage of the plastic pants: no laundry bills. To keep Berliner’s see-through jeans clear, all the wearer needs is a little Windex.

How in the world does this woman get so much attention in every magazine, when he hasn’t been in any movies in a long time, she has no clothing line, etc.? She has a company that doesn’t really have anything to do with what People mag covers. It’s just bizarre. I clicked on the reticle just to see exactly how her people suckered this magazine into, writing about her!

The super success of first Knights of the Old Republic game initiated a sequel’The Sith Lords, which has all the key aspects of the first RPG plus more re-playable quests and a good storyline. The best part of Star Wars games is that they can easily be molded into different genres. It simply projects the idea of being able to provide service without restrictions in terms of location.

Technique C: Increase the size of your computer’s RAM (Random Access Memory). The Sony Play – Station Two is Sony’s second computer game console, the successor to the original Sony Play – Station, and the predecessor to the Sony Play – Station Three. You could give yourself some leisure time between classes or just within the break time, however are not in front of your TV.
