This Tinder-Inspired Food App Lets You Swipe Right on Recipes
While swiping left or right is synonymous with Tinder, a trio of friends from Boston is attempting to change the game with their new app Tender (full name: Tender Food and Recipes), which replaces potential dates with potential dinner recipes.
“As a twenty-something, we are all constantly combating the impulse to just eat-out or pick something up,” co-founder Jordan Homan tells Boston.com. “But Tender gets you psyched about the prospect of making food, and it makes it easy to do so.”
The free app, available on Android and iPhone, allows users to save coveted food porn to their “Cookbook,” which stores all swiped-right recipes that link back to their original sources.
Tender also has a built-in filter system to make the search for “the one” perfect recipe that much faster and satisfying. The app can be customized depending on personal preferences, offering filter options for drinks, dessert, chicken, pork, beef, seafood, vegan and vegetarian to narrow results.
According to Homan, the start-up is also working on additional ways to refine their recently launched app, which hopes to see filters for breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes in the near future, as well as adding nutritional information and a digital shopping list to its impressive platform.
We’re swiping right on this idea.
