EXCLUSIVE: Jeremiah Brent Is the New Host of OWN’s Home Made Simple
Interior designer and former reality star Jeremiah Brent has landed a new full-time gig on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Brent is slated to host of the 5th season of Home Made Simple, a DIY show that pairs families with an interior designer, carpenter, and, occasionally, a chef, to pull off an event or revamp a room in their home.
“As a kid I used to love going to open houses and doing DIY projects with my parents and sister around our home,” Brent said. “I feel so fortunate to be able to take a childhood hobby and turn it into a career.”
The designer’s most notable previous foray into the television world was a stint on The Rachel Zoe Project, where he starred as an assistant to the celebrity fashion stylist and used the opportunity to explore his interest in interior design, helping her decorate her new home.
He also made headlines in May of 2014 when he married fellow interior designer and television personality Nate Berkus in a ceremony officiated by OWN president Sheri Salata at the New York Public Library. The couple recently welcomed a daughter, Poppy.
Brent replaces former Punky Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye, and the show is slated to premiere in January.
