Thousands of people showed up to participate in Kevin Hart‘s latest spontaneous 5K run through Dallas, but one runner in particular caught the comedian’s attention.

Hart, 36, shared a photo on Instagram Friday that shows him running alongside an overweight man who is just on the verge of completing the race.

“This is why I do it….Simply for moments like this!!!” he captioned the photo. “I saw him a quarter mile out from the finish line and I was so inspired by how hard he was working….I jumped down and ran out to him and finished his 5K with him!!!! Good job man….u are well on ur way to greatness!!!!”

Hart has been organizing spontaneous 5K runs throughout the country. He’s gathered crowds in Boston, Atlanta, Georgia and Brooklyn, New York over the course of the summer to take part in what he hopes will become a “global movement.”

“Today’s run in Dallas was my biggest turn out to date….over 2000 people showed up & showed out,” he captioned another Instagram post from Friday’s race. “Woooooow….I told you guys that these runs are going to keep getting bigger & better!!! This is a GLOBAL MOVEMENT people!!!! Everyone did a amazing job today. We motivated one another to be great and celebrated everyone’s finish with love!!!!”

Hart told PEOPLE in April that he’s “not a big runner, but I try to make sure I put some time in on that mill. I run anywhere from 2 to 3 miles a day.”

As for why he first got into exercise, the 5’4″ star admits it has a lot to do with his height.

“I’m small!” said the funnyman. “I have to [be in shape]. You can’t be small and have a little frame. You’ve got to have something.”
