Oprah Winfrey Calls 2016 ‘The Year of My Best Body’ in Second Weight Watchers Ad

It looks like Oprah Winfrey has already found her New Year’s resolution.

The media mogul explains in her second Weight Watchers commercial that she plans to make 2016 the year of her best body — and she is already off to a great start. Since August, Winfrey has been following Weight Watchers‘ new SmartPoints plan to lose weight and eat healthier. In October, Winfrey showed off her 15-lb. weight loss, and announced that she had become a spokesperson for the company and purchased a 10 percent stake for $43 million.

In the new ad, Winfrey talks about her motivation for joining the program.

“I don’t have, like, a pair of jeans I’m trying to get into – I’ve been down that road, honey child,” Winfrey says in the 30-second spot. “I don’t have a dress, or a big red carpet thing I have to do. I’m really just looking at 2016 as the year of my best body, and that’s what I want for you too. Let’s let 2016 be the years of our best bodies.”

And, as with everything Oprah does, we expect great success!

Oprah is ridiculous. She said she didn’t want to be fat at 50 so she lost weight before she turned 50. Now, 2016 is the year of her best body. Oprah, you have no excuse with both a personal chef and trainer. You really need to see a psychiatrist to help you figure out why you can’t keep the weight off. You are just treating the symptoms with Weightwatchers.

I used to like her until she became political. I do wish her luck, though, in her weight loss.

Oprah looks gorgeous. I hope she reaches her goal.

Kind of disappointed in Oprah. What happened to her self acceptance and never dieting again? I would much have rather seen her fight for the acceptance of people based on their kindness, acceptance of others and desire to be good humans and not on their looks. Work on your health if you need to (true for all, not just those with weight issues) and being your best, but making it seem that your value is in your body and how it looks is not cool.

Chaaching. Lose it, don’t lose it, any way you slice it it is a win win for Oprah! The BILLION dollar weight loss industry lives and breathes repeat offenders. Ms. Winfrey has chosen to be the spokesperson for and the chairman of the board of the middle America routine weight game venture. Ya gotta wonder the appeal. I mean Ms. Winfrey has personal trainers, professional chefs and the all encompassing, potent ridicule of the angry, bitter fat hatting public and it isn’t enough to bring on the hip bones. Maybe them there Ten lbs lost buttons and weekly weigh-ins at the Community Center will be what finally pushes Oprah over the edge to permanent non-fat-ness. But then, where is the value in that. You have to have, or shall we say, Be a failure, for a Success Story to ring true. And Billionaire Television Celebrity finally loses last 6 pounds just ain’t it. Best Wishes Ya’ll!

I’m so very tired of hearing about Oprah and her “weight” problems. She has yo-yo’d so many times. She needs to learn to love herself like she is not and obviously not for who she would like to be. She’s had paid chef’s, personal trainers and so far nothing has stuck so give it up Oprah, your destined to be a “big” woman!

I’m tired beyond bf of Oprah and her self-obsession about everything! She is fat again. Ho hum. Her WW commercials are totally boring. Wish she’d disappear and we could just forget about this self-obsessed bitch.

I am tired of Oprah and endlessly hearing about her weight. Who cares!

Disappointed. This is the woman who told us all that diets don’t work. Now she is part of a huge corporation that pushes them. Will she come back in 5 years and tell us it is a farce just like her shake diet was? Or her cooks’ cookbook which she endorsed?

With the resources she has I would like to think simply putting down the fork and exercising would do the trick?

You suck why would you tell people who are happy with their life to be sad , There are big girls who love who they are. Why are you so negative to people who embrace big. Great for Opra on another quest. I’m a big girl from Indiana living in Scottsdale AZ and my husband has fed me since college to be a big girl just as his father did with his mother.

There’s her problem…. saying that her best year is because of her best body. Who relates good years to your size? Only a person who has body issues that they let control their lives. Just be happy… who cares about a little fat! Geez!

“And, as with everything Oprah does, we expect great success.”

You mean like the other 100 times she has said she was going to lose weight for good?
I have weight issues myself and sympathy for Oprah and anyone else who struggles with weight, but I also can’t take seriously someone who has made billions selling a new diet, a new training regimen, a new self-help philosophy, a new prosperity plan EVERY YEAR since the early 80s and yet never seems to say “Sorry, I was wrong the last 500 times, maybe you shouldn’t waste your money on my recommendations and should figure things out for yourselves.”

For some reason the Weight Watchers commercial reminds me of the introductions you give in Deepak Chopra’s meditations. It must be the “if not now, when?” line LOL

I like Oprah. On April 15 I was 206 pounds. I have worked out at the gym (typically swimming) five days a week for years. Yet, I have put on about 20 pounds over the last 8 or 9 years. I thought I ate healthly. I focused on lean animal proteins, pasta, rice, and some vegetables and fruit. I was very frustrated. I didn’t understand why I didn’t lose weight. I read a book on http://www.adiestree.com/how-i-lose-weight-fast/ and it was like a light going off in my head. It really made sense.
I have been following his recommendations since about April 15th. I weighed 190 pounds after three weeks (16 pounds in three weeks). I feel great. I no longer “battle” with food. I don’t worry about how much I eat. I don’t deprive myself of food. I just mainly eat fresh vegetables, fruits, beans and tofu etc. I feel really healthy. My performance swimming has increased and my muscle tone is better.
I don’t see a problem at all following this eating plan forever. Try it. It is life changing. It is not a fad. It makes sense and feels right when you do it (unlike Atkins – which I never tried – it seems unnatural to eat just meat and cheese).

Good Lord I cannot stand this human. She is phony and now has shown us she will peddle and push anything to make MORE money. Oprah, please take your money and disappear. This is the woman that cried racism when she is told NO by a simple shop girl in Sweden. The girl just did not want to take the 25,000 bag out of the case and let Oprah grub it up! Come on Oprah, it is time to go go now and STFU!
