Jennifer Aniston Dishes on Her Protein-Packed Breakfast Routine (and the One Food She’s Powerless Against)

When it comes to starting her day, Jennifer Aniston is all about packing in the protein.

In a recent interview with Bon Appétit, the former Friends star (who’s set to reunite with her castmates in February) dished on her typical breakfast routine, which consists of three go-to options — all of them rich in nutrients (but still delicious-sounding).

“Sometimes it’s a smoothie—bananas, cherries, a protein powder of some sort, almonds, cacao powder, and all sorts of other weird antioxidant stuff I can’t remember—with almond milk,” she said.

“Other times I have eggs over-easy—I crack them into a bowl and I’ll add a white or two into that and pour it all into the pan to get more protein sans too much yolk age. I’ll have that with avocado toast sprinkled with olive oil and salt and pepper.” And the third? “Oatmeal with egg whites whipped into it right at the end.”

When she needs to indulge, Aniston does have one food she’s powerless around: tortilla chips. But not just any chips, of course. “Homemade, really good, fluffy-crispy tortilla chips,” she said.

Other favorite foods she revealed? Soft tacos (not surprising, given her fascination with the Taco Cleanse), pasta carbonara (she and husband Justin Theroux‘s signature dish), frozen yogurt (her occasional midnight snack), and—unlike quarterback Tom Brady—coffee (though she limits herself to one cup a day).

Aniston has recently revealed a lot about her diet, saying that her general food philosophy is to “eat as much organic fruits and veggies as you can, keep sugar [intake] low, drink tons and tons of water, and get good sleep.”

The Latest Craze in Disco Styles Is See-Through Jeans—but Beware of Foggy Bottoms

On a clear day, you can see forever—or at least that’s the wicked thought behind L.A. designer Agi Berliner’s transparent idea: see-through jeans. Exhibitionists notwithstanding, most folks wear them over bathing suits or as attention-getting evening wear with halters, garter belts and body stockings. Created for the disco crowd, the $34 jeans are selling like, well, hot pants. In just six weeks, 25,000 pairs have already been sold in such major department store chains as Macy’s, Bonwit’s and Saks.

“What’s limiting American designers is that we’re afraid to do something different,” says Berliner, 32, a Hungarian émigré who fled with her family to the U.S. in 1956. Agi thought up the gimmick in London while marveling at the way plastics were being employed by designers of punk fashion. In her L.A. office, where she designs for La Parisienne junior sportswear, Agi spent five days on the phone and six weeks testing to come up with the right plastic.

Agi herself tried out the French-cut jeans with the zipper in front, and quickly found several problems: Some plastics tore away from stitching, others wouldn’t bend and all fogged with perspiration. The ideal material proved to be a vinyl supplied by a bookbinder. The steam was eliminated with a series of vents behind the knees and in the crotch. “They’re no hotter than polyester pants,” claims Agi, “and if you wear them with tights, they won’t stick to your legs.”

Whatever the discomfort and despite the problem of Saturday night feverishness, discomaniacs report one major advantage of the plastic pants: no laundry bills. To keep Berliner’s see-through jeans clear, all the wearer needs is a little Windex.

The egg yolk is where the vitamins A, D, E, K2. Vitamin A is necessary for protein synthesis. There’s a reason why the yolk and egg white comes together.

All she has to offer is the same recycled news about her diets, her hair, her workouts and her trips to Cabo. Over and over and over. Then throw in the random pregnancy rumors. No substance to her. She has a chef that prepares all her foods. That’s why she can’t remember the ingredients. Must be she has a cookbook coming out soon to promote. As if she really cooks.

lol, she always talks about how healthy she eats, blah, blah. but did you how huge are her thighs in her dress at CCA awards? She looks so wide in her gown. Aniston is a total fraud! She has bad skin and yet she endorses aveeno, she has bad hair when not styled and yet she endorses living proof. what else, she endorses smart water and talks about doing exercise and eating healthy and look how chunky she is and has the gut belly for years now. There’s no such thing as a dietary cholesterol limit. If you eat undamaged cholesterol you have nothing to worry about. Dietary cholesterol has nothing to do with your cholesterol levels. Your cholesterol levels have to do with inflammation in the body. Damaged fats and sugar are the cause of free radical damage that attracts the cholesterol to bandage the damage. People who die of heart disease do not have too much cholesterol, there’s no such thing. Many people have low cholesterol and die of heart disease.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, Jenn’s routine is almost right on! I use my own superfood powder (power!) blend of a raw vegetable proteins into the smoothie, helps curb blood sugar spikes. Whole oats have more protein than any other common grain. Strawberries and all other berries, such as blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and cranberries, contain slow-release carbohydrates (check Glycemic Index database) and the high antioxidant intake benefits are well worth it. There’s misinformation about the egg yolk being the worst part of the egg when it’s the where all the nutrition is, the whole egg white/yolk work synergistically to raise good HDL cholesterol.
